THE METAVERSE HISTORICALLY AND TODAY: WHAT WILL CHANGE AND WHAT HAS CHANGED?

new experience

After the boom of non-fungible token (NFT) in the 2021, the latest trending topic has been the metaverse.

The word is formed from 'meta' meaning "beyond" and 'universe'; the term is typically used to describe the concept of a future iteration of Internet, consisting of persistent, shared 3D virtual spaces connected in a perceived virtual universe.
The first use of the term "metaverse" is found in Neal Stephenson's 1992 science fiction novel called Snow Crash; in this novel, people interact using avatars in a 3D virtual space, that mirrors the real world, as a place of escape from reality.

The Metaverse, then, is a concept that societies have been encountering for decades and has been growing more and more. Just as in 1993 we could not tell how big the Internet was and what exactly it was, this thing we call the Metaverse, is a continuation of that: the next generation of Internet; however, it will be bigger than anything we have ever known.

The metaverse refers to an online virtual world in which individuals have the ability to consume their NFTs (not just using them as a picture profile on instagram or storing them in a wallet) and experience a variety of interactions, environments, and objects.

Primarily through three-dimensional digital Avatars, users engage in real-time communication, combined with an immersive experience: your virtual office doesn't have to be a boring corporate environment; so, why not put it on the beach, on an ocean cruise, or even on a mountaintop?  Imagine a world in which you could have a conversation on the beach with your colleagues, take notes for a meeting while on a cruise, or teleport from your office in Milan to Miami, or perhaps a stroll through a virtual cafeteria after the meeting to catch up with a friend who lives in a different city. All this without going from home.
Feeling pressured by too many meetings scheduled today?

So why not send your digital twin instead to relieve the load on your shoulders?

In addition, the metaverse could revolutionize training and skill development, drastically compressing the time needed to develop and get new skills.

OUR LIFE IS ON-LIFE

Finally, the cryptographic metaverse is actually used as a real-time virtual world, where offline interactions migrate online,  seamlessly through these open-access platforms that promote inclusion and ownership, becoming almost impossible to distinguish online life from offline life.

Today, in fact, the attention marketing with its intrusiveness is entering more and more into our lives.

So much so that many philosophers no longer speak about a concept between physical life and online life, but they speak about a life on-life; the metaverse changes our behaviors, ways of working and our attention.

In fact, emotions, are the next frontier into metaverse.
